We are looking for a full-time, Material Handler for our second shift. Must have at least 6 months reach truck experience within the last 5 years.

Summary Loads, unloads, inventories and moves materials within or near the plant

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
  • Unloads materials from trucks
  • Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated staging area.
  • Uses Thermoforming Paperless Materials page to manage the needs of the production floor to stage film and issue boxes as needed by production.
  • Operates all equipment including hilo, reach truck and walkie rider
  • Performs inventory transfers using RF Smart
  • Pulls Shipments
  • Takes physical inventory counts
  • Performs tool movement as needed
  • Performs scrap requests
  • Loads Shipments
  • Audits, corrects and reports deficiencies within the materials areas assigned
  • Waters equipment batteries as needed
  • Complies with department standards and DOT guidelines
  • Complies with Display Pack safety policies and procedures and reports safety hazards/violations to supervisor.
  • All other duties as assigned by Supervisor or management

Food Safety Responsibilities

All employees are required to report any food safety and quality issues immediately to the Supervisor/Manager of their area or a directly to a member of the Quality department.

Employees in Supervisory, Managerial, Director or Executive level and/or in the Quality department are required to report and act on all food safety and quality problems reported by plant personnel.

Employees in Supervisory, Managerial, Director or Executive level and/or in the Quality department are required to determine training requirements for personnel for their departments.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 6 months or more recent experience operating a reach truck. Recent is defined as within in the last 5 years.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to write simple correspondence.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide with accuracy. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must be able to obtain powered lift truck license

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to physically operate a reach truck, hilo and walkie-rider.
